The Adventures of the Great Neblinksi – Book Review

I don’t always review books, but when I do, it is for good reason. Creative fiction is subjective, however, when it combines all my favorite elements of cannabis, adventure, and magic; I am all in!

I became aware of the author, JRR Tokin, on Twitter. I saw some friends share his posts and started to follow. I wasn’t sure what to make of it at first, but his posts were quite entertaining and one day I said “screw it, what do I have to lose?” and ordered a copy of the book.

Side note: the author is an amazing artist and his clay sculptures are a sight to behold.

Boy was I entertained. After the first chapter of the book I was hooked. The book follows the adventure of a Gnome, erm, a G’nome who is sent by his people’s lost deity to spread the word of their holy herb(cannabis!) and undertake a perilous journey. Along the way he befriends a group of mercenaries who assist him throughout his journey.

The book is chalked full hilarious anecdotes and gratuitous consumption of the holy herb. To put it in perspective, the only other book I have ever laughed out loud at was Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. If you try to keep up with the characters in the book and their partaking in the holy sacrament, you’ll soon be saying Holy Shiddumbuzzin!

To top it off, this book has it all. The story is wonderfully written with great character development. The author does a fantastic job of storytelling and brings the reader in with plenty of suspense, mystery, and intrigue. I won’t give away the plot within the book but I am desperately waiting for the second book to come out to see where this story goes!

You’ll laugh, you might cry, you might also just get really high from the amount of smoke billowing out of the book! I highly suggest checking it out and getting a copy!

3chi Delta-8 THC 600mg Tincture Review

Δ⁸ THC is quickly becoming my new favorite thing. The biggest draw to this substance is that it is federally legal and available for purchase online from a variety of vendors. As someone how is curious by nature, finding new ways to explore the benefits of cannabis is a bit if a passion of mine. After trying some Δ⁸ vape carts, I decided to give the tincture a whirl.

The tincture from 3chi is 600mL of Δ⁸ THC in 30mL of oil and flavoring, which gives 20mg of Δ⁸ THC per 1mL dropper. Having used delta-9 THC tinctures and edibles before, I decided for my first dose I would target roughly 15mg of Δ⁸ which would be .75mL of the dropper.

The tincture is practically clear, which is what we would expect to see with a highly concentrated Δ⁸ product. This tincture, according to the lab results, has 80% purity in the extract. It has a bit of a fruity and pineapple like taste. I held it under my tongue for several minutes to take it subinguinally instead of having the majority of oil observed through my digestive tract.

7:45pm – Tincture taken

8:20pm – Starting to feel some effects. I’m experiencing the “heaviness” in the eyes.

8:45pm – Definitely feeling stoned. Mood is quite elevated and body is very relaxed. The body feeling is a bit more intensified than compared to the vape.

9:30pm – Munchies setting in.

10:00pm – By this point the effects have set in. Definitely more of a body stoned like I’ve experienced with regular edibles. Mood is very elevated and body almost completely relaxed. At this point I also start smoking a bowl of Deschutes hemp.

11:20pm – Going to bed feeling completely relaxed.

I’d have to take the tincture during the day to observe how long the effects lasted. But sufficed to say my evening was quite enjoyable. One of the differences I noted(vape vs tincture) was that the “alertness” that came from the vape was not as overpowering with the tincture.

Hawaiian Haze – Southern Charm Botanicals Review

While I promised myself to not buy more hemp, I couldn’t resist with the sudden sales due to COVID-19 and 4/20 approaching. Hawaiian Haze was a strain on my radar and Southern Charm Botanicals made it on the short-list of vendors to try. This batch of Hawaiian Haze comes in at 14% CBD.

Opening the glass jar I was greeted by a subtle fruity aroma with a hint of pine. The buds were a dark green color with very long red hairs. Breaking them apart with my fingers, I would not consider this flower very “sticky” but it did leave some reside on my fingers. The trichomes were also very thick and noticeable to the naked eye.

My first session with this strain was in my Fury. I loaded some into the chamber and did a 5 minute session after my morning workout. My body felt more relaxed and my mind more alert after the session; definitely a good morning/afternoon strain. In other sessions I did smoke the Hawaiian Haze and the pine taste was more prevalent. The effects from this flower seemed to ease in over the course of 15 minutes or so after the initial session.
